This tour takes you along the stunning waterfront, where views of the harbour create perfect photo opportunities. Oriental Bay is a highlight, offering a taste of local life as you ride past its golden beach. You’ll also see Te Papa Museum from the outside, a cultural icon of New Zealand.

The city’s reputation as the world’s windiest capital adds a fun twist to the storytelling. - Gel Saddle Cover: Add extra comfort with a softer seat.

- Baby Seat: A child seat that fits onto the rear rack, suitable for children weighing up to 22 kg.
- Limited kids’ helmets are available; bringing your own is recommended.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Meeting Point: We are just a 5-minute walk from the Wellington iSite and Te Papa Museum.
- Age and Height Requirements: No minimum age, this tour is designed for adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Electric bikes require a minimum height of 145 cm, but regular bikes have no height restriction.
- Riding Skills: Guests should feel stable riding a bike, comfortable dismounting to walk across roads, and capable of navigating shared paths safely.
- Group Policy: The tour requires at least two participants to operate. For groups of 20 or more, contact us directly to arrange a tailored experience.
- For Cruise Ship Guests
- Pick-Up Option: If you book at least 48 hours before your tour date, we’ll provide a convenient pick-up service directly from the cruise terminal. Look for the Independent Tour Operator Pick-Up Point, where our guide will be holding a blue Switched on Bikes sign. If booked within 48 hours, we’ll contact you to confirm pick-up availability.
- Alternative Directions: If pick-up is unavailable, take the free Cruise Ship Shuttle to the North Lambton Quay Stop. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to reach our store:
- Walk down Whitmore Street, sticking to the sidewalk until you reach the waterfront.
- Turn right and follow the water’s edge for 5 minutes, keeping the harbour on your left.
- Look for our sign near the green crocodile bikes on the waterfront path—our store is right there.
- Walking Option: Prefer walking? It’s approximately a 20-25 minute walk from the cruise terminal to Queens Wharf. Simply follow the water’s edge towards the iconic WELL_NGTON sign, passing Te Papa Museum along the way, until you see our store on the path by the yachts.

For pricing purposes ages are classified as below:
- Adult: 18 years +
- Teenager: 12-17 years and accompanied by an adult
- Minimum Age: 12 years
CANCELLATION & REFUND
- If you alter your travel plans and inform us up to 24 hours before the tour, you'll receive a full refund.**
- Full refund if the weather is bad on your booked day and you contact us prior to departure time.**
- If your ship, plane, or bus is delayed and you notify us before departure, you'll be refunded in full.**
Please note: Our bike rentals and tours typically carry on even in the rain, but you don't have to ride if you contact us before your departure time. If we think the wind is too strong for safe riding, we might change the route to make it more enjoyable.
