Scenic Guided Climbing Tour in Christchurch’s Port Hills

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Christchurch’s Port Hills, this half or full-day rock climbing tour offers the perfect mix of adventure and scenery. The journey starts with a 30-minute drive through picturesque suburbs, opening out to breathtaking views from the Pacific Ocean to the Southern Alps. You'll climb on ancient volcanic crags, part of the massive Banks Peninsula, with over 2000 established routes to suit every level.

After a short walk to the climbing site, your local guide will gear you up and provide a safety briefing before your first ascent. Whether you're a first-timer learning the ropes or a seasoned climber chasing new challenges, the routes are tailored to your ability. Break for lunch at the crag, soaking in panoramic views over Christchurch or Lyttelton Harbour, before returning to the city recharged and exhilarated.
