What Can You Do on Waiheke Island?

Waiheke Island covers 92 square kilometres of the Hauraki Gulf and is known for its vineyards, cellar doors, restaurants, beaches and coastal walking tracks. More than 30 wineries operate across the island, making wine tasting one of its main visitor experiences.

Matiatia Wharf provides the arrival point for ferry passengers, with local buses, taxis, transfers and guided tours available for onward travel. Visitors can spend a few hours touring wineries or allow a full day for beaches, dining and sightseeing.

Includes 16 scenic stops across Waiheke Island, linking leading wineries, restaurants, shops, galleries, beaches and walking trails. Stops include Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Stonyridge and Batch vineyards, along with Allpress Olive Groves, The Heke, Oneroa Village and Onetangi Beach, known for its cafés and relaxed coastal setting.
