Overview
Setting off from Acacia Bay’s protected waters on a Half Day Maori Rock Carvings Kayaking, we head off to see up close the remote Rock Carvings at Mine Bay on Lake Taupo in New Zealand. You will be greeted by soaring cliffs and native bush as you navigate narrow inlets that can only accommodate kayaks before getting to the 14-metre high carvings. As you gaze up to the carvings and float beneath them, your experienced guide will discuss the carving’s cultural importance to the lake and the surrounding areas.
On our return journey, we take a break for refreshments. Here you will also have a chance to swim in the lake’s clear waters. The breeze may come up, providing us a fantastic opportunity to raft our kayaks together and sail back. It’s going to be a blissful experience you won’t soon forget.
Experience is not necessary for this trip as all our trips are guided with full instructions provided. We also supply you with safe and easy-to-use double kayaks. Adults must accompany children under the age of 12 in our kayaks.
