In the afternoon, after the daytime sightseers leave, calm descends on Mitre Peak and Milford Sound. The ultimate dinner, bed and breakfast experience is a Milford Sound overnight cruise on the Milford Mariner. Escorted by an expert nature guide, you will leave from the Milford Sound jetty in late afternoon and cruise the complete length of Milford Sound to the Tasman Sea. The cruise style is relaxed, permitting ample time to observe the fiord’s stunning waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife.
Afterwards the Milford Mariner anchors in a protected inlet. Here the nature guide will take you to explore in the vessel’s tender craft (small boat) and kayaks. Or, if you wish, you can merely put your feet up and unwind on deck. As evening falls, enjoy a delicious carvery buffet in the dining saloon. Afterwards take part in some star gazing or relax in the companionship of fellow vacationers, before retiring to your private cabin.
