Private Range Rover Gannet Safaris Tour

Get up close to the birds in a small group tour of up to 4 people for three hours (or longer if you desire) anytime from sunrise to sunset. This tour will take you on an overland journey to the world’s biggest accessible gannet colony through the 2,500-hectare Cape Kidnappers Station. This working sheep and beef farm has an interesting history and is the current location of a 200-hectare native bush conservatory home to introduced Kiwi and Tuatara protected from predators with a coast-to-coast fence. You’ll also find a luxury lodge here with a privately owned world-class golf course.

Standing at the top of the cliffs, gaze down at the cliffs’ intriguing geology and take in the sweeping views across Hawke’s Bay. At the colony, you’ll be a few feet away from the adults and chicks to observe their distinctive eye-markings and golden crowns as well as their nesting and preening rituals and courtship dance.
