Overview
We’d like you to experience the picturesque western end of the Sound on our Queen Charlotte Sounds Half Day Guided Kayak, away from the harbour’s bustling atmosphere, where boat traffic is minimal and stunning bays and coves are plenty. You may even spot some wildlife while you explore these natural attractions. If the weather allows, we can arrange for you to paddle from Picton Harbour to make the most of your time on the water.
Meet at 8.30AM or 12.30PM at our office at the Picton Waterfront, complete some paperwork, and finally leave on a scenic drive for Ngakuta Bay, our launch point 20 minutes away from Picton. Before setting off on an exciting half day adventure, we provide you with detailed safety instructions. Your guide will provide useful information, answer your questions, and ensure your safety and comfort at all times. Weather-permitting, routes are chosen on the day to make the most of onshore wind at our back. We are flexible with the day’s plan, and this allows us to accommodate all abilities on the tour.
Enjoy a wonderful opportunity to encounter a diverse population of sea birds. Cormorants and adorable little blue penguins, sting and eagle rays, large starfish, seals, and on a good day, even dolphins, show up.
For morning tours, expected return time to Picton is 12.30PM and 4.30PM for afternoon tours.
