Overview
The Waikato River in New Zealand is famous for its pristine beauty, and you get the chance to admire it up close on this Waikato River Float kayaking journey starting from Taupo Town just a few minutes away. Enjoy a leisurely paddle on its crystal clear slow-moving water, and look up at the pumice gorge, cliff faces and dense native forest as you drift past.
As we paddle, several islands will come into view, and we will come across various swimming spots and the bungy platform (hopefully someone’s jumping). You’ll have a chance to take a dip in the mineral waters of a natural hot spring we will encounter along the way, and enjoy refreshments at the end of the trip.
This trip suits families in search for a relaxed kayak adventure.
We provide full instruction and guides on all our trips so no experience is required for this journey. We also provide single and double kayaks that are safe and easy to use regardless of experience or age. We suggest adults accompany children under the age of 4 in our kayaks.
