Explore the Lake Dunstan Trail from Clyde to Cromwell
Discover Central Otago’s striking landscapes on a 43 km self-guided cycling journey beside the crystal-clear waters of Lake Dunstan. Your adventure begins with a scenic shuttle transfer to historic Clyde, where you can take time to explore the charming township before setting off on your e-bike. Follow the trail towards Bannockburn, enjoying expansive lake views, rugged hills and the distinctive scenery of the Cromwell Basin.
As the route curves around Bannockburn Inlet, discover a landscape shaped by gold-mining history, vineyards and dramatic rock formations. Make time for a visit to Carrick Winery, where you can sample local wines while taking in views across the inlet. This combination of lakeside cycling and regional wine country offers an engaging way to experience Central Otago beyond its well-known towns.
